Portugal is a destination of choice for surfers from around the world.
Its extensive Atlantic coast offers not only numerous beaches for the practice of this sport, but also several types of waves, sometimes allowing the surfer to enjoy two or three different types of waves within a radius of 100 Km.
From the combination of wind conditions, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year, surfing days are often memorable.
There are many surf spots that Portugal has to offer, from the already well-known giant waves of Nazaré (northern beach), to the beaches of Carcavelos, Ericeira and Peniche, known for their perfection, not forgetting the classic ones waves of Costa da Caparica, the wild beaches of the Alentejo coast and the Sagres area.
Even in the islands (Azores and Madeira) we can find good conditions for surfing.
It should be noted that in addition to the excellent natural conditions, Portugal has developed infrastructures and hotel units aimed specifically at the surfer, who can thus benefit from facilities such as reserved spaces for storing material, board rentals, transfers for the best " spots "of the day.
